The open sore has a small amount of drainage but there is no odor . A sample of the drainage that was grown in the lab to identify the miccroorganism and determine the best antibiotic ( ____________________ ____________________ ____________________ ) of the drainage revealed Staphylococcus bacteria in the open sore .

Diagnosis : Inflammation of the connective tissue of the skin ( ____________________ ) .

Treatment : Removal of damaged tissue ( ____________________ ) of the open sore followed by application of an antibiotic cream . Patient was instructed to return to the skin disease specialist's office in 2 weeks , or sooner , if the open sore does not heal , or if it begins draining pus .
