Minaret: tower located at one end of the courtyard from where muezzin call people to prayer
Qibla: wall facing Mecca towards which all prayers were directed.
Mihrab: small room located in the qibla where the Koran is kept.
Courtyard: entrance area with a fountain in the centre.
Ablutions fountain: for washing before prayer.
Haram or prayer room: room normally covered with a flat wooden ceiling supported by columns where prayers pray facing Mecca.
