Point of View

Though Kelly knew her mom would catch her trying to sneak in, she tried her best not to be caught. Why? Well, when your a half hour late, it's worth trying, at, least, that's what Kelly thought. Looking back at this foolish choice, she realized she should have just walked through the door and faced the music rather than make it worse by trying to sneak by her already angry mother.

On arriving home, Papa bear was surprised to see the front door open. He motioned to Mama bear to stop as he glared into their home. Though Mama bear had not noticed the door right away, she did see Papa bear lift his hand for her to stop. He went from being relaxed to stiff, so Mama bear knew something was wrong. Unbeknownst to either one, inside their home, a little, wild child, who the newspapers were calling "Goldilocks" and who was wanted by police in three states, had settled into their home.

The moon was full. Its rays brightened the darkness. Sherman slid down the rope. When he reached the bottom, he brushed his hands on his pants and ran into the woods. A wolf howled. Sherman picked up a long stick and pulled a knife from his backpack. He began whittling the end of the stick into a point. He folded his knife and put it back in his backpack. Now Sherman ran through the moonlit forest while brandishing a pointy stick. Another wolf howled.

What is with that unsettling feeling you get when you look down from a high edge or landing? You may not even be afraid of heights, but, if you are on a balcony of a tall building or your standing on a safe hiking trail but staring downward from a high mountain ledge, you get that creepy feeling. You know you won't fall, yet something is telling you to be careful.

“Math class is boring,” thought Tyler. Wishing that he could be in P.E., Tyler tried to concentrate on the x’s and y’s as Mrs. Smith explained the equation. When the bell rang, Tyler was one of the first ones to get up. “See you tomorrow, Tyler,” Mrs. Smith said. “Don’t forget our quiz.” Tyler hung his head as he went into the hallway. He was definitely not ready for a quiz, but he forgot all about math the moment he stepped into his next class: P.E.!

When the bus came, Sharon got on, carrying her pink backpack. It was the first day of school, and Sharon was nervous. She smiled, though, when she saw her best friend Kevin sitting in the back.

The lights in the mall were beautiful. There were red, green, and gold decorations everywhere. I couldn’t wait to start shopping for presents for all of my friends. “Are you ready to go?” Dad asked. “Yes!” I exclaimed. “Let’s shop!”

The gym was crowded. Leslie was excited about the dance team’s performance, but she was afraid of performing in front of all of these people. Melissa could see the look of panic on Leslie’s face. “It’s okay,” Melissa said, “We have practiced a lot for this.” Hearing Melissa’s words, Coach Turner turned around. “No need to be nervous, girls. You are going to be great!"

When the bus came, Sharon got on, carrying her pink backpack. It was the first day of school, and Sharon was nervous. She smiled, though, when she saw her best friend Kevin sitting in the back. Kevin was nervous, too. So, he was thrilled to see Sharon. Maybe this day would not be so bad after all.

It's a silly thing to do, but you don't do it to yourself on purpose. It's more accidental than you think. For example, when you're driving, especially for a long time, you just start overthinking the simple, then next thing you know, you all of a sudden can't seem to drive right any more. It can also happen if you think too much about breathing. All of a sudden you start gasping, as if you even have any say over breathing. It's just silly to do, but it's most often done on accident.

There's something golden about an early morning sunset. I am not even sure what I mean when I say that, but I do mean what I say. There's something refreshing about the sun bursting out over the horizon each morning. I guess maybe some people just pass it by like it's nothing, but I can't do that. It stops me in my tracks. I just stare. Something about it. It's just golden.

There were only so many choices to choose from, but Brian could already tell that Sammy and Tessa were struggling. Tessa was just horrible at making decisions, nothing more than that. She'll practically have anxiety attacks over choosing which dessert she wanted on Christmas. Sammy, on the other hand, could usually make up his mind pretty quickly, but he was more scientific. He weighed the pros and cons of each option before making a choice. However, tonight, the pros and cons for each choice were weighing equally, which meant Brian was going to have to make the final decision.
