Apply protective barrier cream to the hairline and the ears.
Process according to the manufacturer’s directions or preliminary test curl.
Check frequently for the S pattern formation.
Complete wrapping entire head. Insert roller picks to stabilize the rods and eliminate any tension caused by the band.
Divide the hair into nine panels using the length of the rod to measure the width of the panels. Begin wrapping at the front hairline or crown making a horizontal parting the same size as the rod.
Rinse the hair thoroughly for at least 5 minutes. Then towel-blot each rod to remove excess moisture.
Apply a coil of cotton around the entire hairline and offer the client a towel to blot any drips.
Put on gloves and slowly and carefully apply the perm solution to each rod.
Apply the neutralizer slowly and carefully to the hair on each rod. Process according to the manufacturer’s directions.
Rinse thoroughly. Remove the rods and style.
Replace saturated cotton and place processing cap on the head.
Fasten the band straight across the top of the rod.
