IMPORTANCE: This includes narration, music, and real-world sounds that are part of the video. Close-Up DEFINITION: A camera shot taken from a short distance. IMPORTANCE: These are used to show facial expressions and details. Contrast DEFINITION: The amount of difference between bright and dark elements in filming and viewing. IMPORTANCE: The use of this can create atmosphere and change the mood. Pan DEFINITION: The vertical or horizontal camera motion used to follow a subject. IMPORTANCE: This allows a cameraperson to follow action through a scene, or to show a wider or taller expanse on the screen. Synchronization (sync) DEFINITION: The coordination of motion and sound.
