Hi there, my fellow ecowarriors, and welcome to today's post, where I will be outlining the problem of food waste and maybe even making some suggestions about what we could all do to save the planet's precious resources.

I thought that the documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth", made by former US Vice President Al Gore more than twenty years ago, would have aged badly, but it still stands up to scrutiny now.
I am writing to you as the CEO of one of this country's major supermarkets to ask what your company is doing about the frankly astonishing amounts of food that the retail industry wastes each and every year.

Most people in the UK spend money on food that they will never get around to eating, a survey published today by the environmental pressure group, Waste Not Want Not, claimed today.
Food waste is an environmental and economic issue. In this analysis, it will be seen that, although food waste decreased during the pandemic, levels have risen again follow the lifting of restrictions.
