The food ? Mmm , it ? s superb , really hot and ____________________ , but pretty
delicate , too . Kind of like a ____________________ between Indian and Chinese
food but with its own special ? avors . They use a lot of lemon
grass and coconut , and a lot of ? sh . I really liked the ____________________ .
You can buy them from ____________________ on the corner of the street .
You choose the meat you want in your soup and the kind
of ____________________ ? long , thin , white rice noodles , or big , fat , thick ,
____________________ ones , and there are these tubs of spices , too , and
you choose as much or as little of whatever you want . Then
you sit there on the street , or in the market or wherever
you are , and eat it . I had some for breakfast one day ? it was
great ! Really great !

The food ? Well , to tell you the truth , I didn ? t really like it
that much . It isn ? t the healthiest of diets . Everything is
either fried or cooked in pig ? s fat and , hmm , I don ? t really
like cabbage that much and that ? s a staple part of their diet ,
like a lot of places in Central Europe . It ? s usually pickled and
served with sour cream ? so , no , it isn ? t really my favorite .
Having said that , there were some things I loved ? the ____________________ ,
for example . It ? s really soft and ____________________ , and so many different
kinds , and their ____________________ too are really good . And some of
the soups , the various kinds of ____________________ ? that ? s their national
dish ? and the bean soups are really delicious and the
____________________ makes them quite spicy ? great on a cold day .

The food ? It isn ? t particularly elaborate , but it ? s good .
The ____________________ in the coastal region is especially good , and there ? s
just such a ____________________ , so many different kinds of ____________________ ? sh , I
wouldn ? t know the names for half of them in English . Another
favorite of mine is the ____________________ green chili peppers . They serve
them by the ____________________ to be shared between friends over a
beer or two . There ? s always one that ? s so spicy it almost blows
your head off . More than anything else , I love the eating - out
____________________ . It ? s pretty informal ; you go to a bar and order huge
platefuls of salsa or avocado dip ? guacamole ? with corn chips
and share them , everybody eating off the same plates . It ? s
very ____________________ ? a really nice social eating ____________________ .

The food ? Actually , it took some getting used to . Although I
like hot , spicy food , there wasn ? t really much of it . But there
was ____________________ of rice and ? sh ! It ? s kind of like the food we get
in restaurants back home , but a lot better . I loved the ____________________
of it , going to a small , family - run restaurant where you
watch your order being made up in front of you . I didn ? t use
to like ____________________ ? sh , but after tasting it freshly made , I love it ,
especially the ____________________ . I also developed a taste for inarizushi ,
little ____________________ of fried tofu stuffed with rice mixed with sweet
____________________ .
