When we were down within the gloomy well ,
beneath the Giant ? s feet , though lower far ,
and I still gazing at its lofty wall ,
I heard one say to me : " Look where thou walkest !

Thereat I turned around , and saw before me ,

seemed to be made of glass not of water .
