In the 1930 Congressional Elections voters were unhappy with Hoover and this party.

Hoover was opposed to direct payment of money from the federal government to individuals, otherwise known as this.

These were government funded projects, such as bridges and dams, whose construction would hopefully provide jobs for the unemployed.

Hoover was very worried that if the federal government became too involved in the lives of individuals it could lead to the spread of this political/economic philosophy, which was spreading in parts of Europe at the time.

These homeless encampments started popping up all over the country as unemployment and homelessness grew during the 1930s.

This group consisted of World War 1 veterans protesting the governments lack of support during the depression and angry that had not received their bonus for serving in the war.

This was created in 1932 by Hoover in order to make loans to businesses. By early 1932 it actually sent out more than $230 million in loans, but it still wasn't enough.
