1 Mountain. Large formation that is higher than the surrounding land.
2 Mountain Range. Continous chain of mountains
3 Basin or Depression. An area lower than the surrounding land. Sometimes formed by the erosion of a river, some ohters because of two shifting plates.
4 Plateau - is an area of highland, usually consisting of relatively flat terrain.
5 Gulf. A sea area surrounded by land on three sides. A smaller one is called bay.

7 Inlet. A narrow water passage between peninsulas or through a barrier island leading to a bay or lagoon. Can be caused because of the water of a fjord.
8 Plain. A large open area of flat or slihgtly undulating land
9 Cape. Part of the land that projects out into the sea
10 Valley. Long basin in the land. A river valley is V-Shaped. Glacial valleys are U-Shaped.
11 Peninsula. A large piece of land surrounded by water on three sides. It is connected to the land by a thin strecht of land called isthmus
12 Island. A piece of land completely surrounded by water. A group of island close together form an archipielago
13 Continental Shelf. The undersea of a continent that descends gradually to depths of around 400 mts.
14 Continental Slope. A steep underwater area that links the continental shelf with the ocean floor.
15 Abyssal plain . A flat area of ocean floor found at depths beween 3000 to 7000 mts.
16 Oceanic trench. A long basin on the ocean floor
17 Oceanic Ridge. A large underwater mountain range
