1 the poster states the obvious since paper plates have always been made from plants. This might be called a irrelevant piece of information. 2 She points at the irrelevant, misleading claims the signs makes. The fact that they are just selling normal paper plates is in stark contrast to the exaggerated use of terms that aim at creating a green, environmentally-friendly image 3 the huge paper plate on display looks ridiculous and mocks the way a normal product is here being presented as something new and environmentally-friendly. 4 There are two examples: the oversized paper plate and the sign above the paper plates because of it overuse of ‘eco’-terms and of advertising strategies 5 a form of criticising certain people or conditions by making them look ridiculous. The cartoonist wants to critise the use of these terms in advertising as a means of greenwashing products or of creating a green, eco-friendly image of a product 6 there is a contrast between what is said/shown and what is actually meant: the contrast between the wordy presentation and the actual product
