TEXTING AS POETRY ?

Does texting reduce your and ruin your language skills ? Not according to poet Carol Ann Duffy , who says texting is an important part of 21st century because , like poetry , it's " a way of saying more with less " . Like texting , poetry " allows feelings and ideas to travel big distances in a very condensed form " . Duffy believes poems can be used as a to connect young people to language in a profound way . She believes that texting can be used to improve students' in a language and is an ideal point at which to start poetry writing . While some think poetry requires too much for students to write , Duffy says learning to words in an inventive way is part of youth culture , citing rap as an example of this .
