1 Continental shelf 2 Continental slope 3 Continental Rise 4 Sea mount 5 Mid-ocean ridge 6 Fracture zone 7 Abyssal plain 8 Volcanic island 9 Guyot 10 Trench 11 Abyssal hills

Explanation

Continental crust that is underwater, relatively shallow ocean

Edge of the continental plate that leads down to the ocean floor

Sediments on the ocean floor that are material from the continent

Underwater volcanic feature more than 1km high

Place where two plates separate. Magma bubbles up to create new crust.

Area around a divergent boundary where there are transform faults along with the ridge.

large, flat, mostly featureless ocean bottom

Magma that has erupted and broken the surface over time. This one is at a hot spot, where magma burned a hole through the plate, as opposed to a convergent plate boundary

Extinct volcanoes that have weathered down and have flat tops

Trenches are deep valleys that form at convergent boundaries/subduction zones where the oceanic plate goes underneath the continental crust

Volcanic feature less than 1 km high. These are on opposite sides of a divergent boundary, but could be on the abyssal plain as well.
