Benito Mussolini was an Italian Fascist dictator born on July 29, 1883, in Predappio (Italy)

Great Britain joined the Allies from the beginning of the war in 1939, and declared war on Germany.

Joseph Stalin was a Communist dictator born in Georgia who led the Soviet Union from 1924 until his death in 1953.

World War II in Europe officially ended on May 8, 1945, when Germany surrendered to the Allied forces, after the Operation Overlord.

Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, in a surprise aerial assault that devastated the U.S. naval base and fleet, leading to the United States' entry into World War II

Adolf Hitler was a political and military leader who became the dictator of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945.

In March 1938, Germany annexed Austria, an event known as the Anschluss. German troops marched into Austria that was incorporated into the German Reich. This action was part of Adolf Hitler's expansionist policies.

The term "Holocaust" became widely used in the mid-1940s to describe the systematic extermination of six million Jews by Nazi Germany during World War II.

China suffered significant casualties during World War II, with estimates ranging from 10 to 20 million deaths, including military and civilians. See below some other figures: USSR = 25 million China = 15 million Poland = 6 million Germany = 4 million Japan = 2 million Yugoslavia 1.5 – 2 million USA = 400,000

Switzerland maintained its neutrality during World War II, not participating in the conflict and avoiding invasion despite being surrounded by Axis powers after France's fall in 1940.

The United States bombarded Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, during World War II, using atomic bombs and causing a total number of deaths of between 90,000 and 166,000. Following the bombing of Hiroshima, Japan's Emperor Hirohito announced his country's unconditional surrender in World War II.

Operation Overlord took place in Normandy, France. It was the Allied invasion of German-occupied Western Europe during World War II, launched on June 6, 1944, known as D-Day. The operation was crucial for the eventual defeat of Nazi Germany.

The principal members of the Allies were the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, the United States, and China (the “Big Four”)

Hiroshima is a city in southwestern Japan, located on the delta of the Ota River on Honshu Island. It was largely destroyed on August 6, 1945, when the United States dropped the first atomic bomb used in warfare on the city.
