About this activity

Desde 1999, cada 4 de mayo, se conmemora el Día Internacional del Combatiente de Incendios Forestales. La fecha, propicia para recordar la vital importancia de la tarea que llevan adelante los brigadistas, así como a quienes han sufrido accidentes, e incluso han perdido la vida, desempeñando su labor en la lucha contra el fuego, fue establecida a partir de un incendio ocurrido en Canadá en diciembre de 1998 donde fallecieron cinco combatientes de una brigada forestal.

Explicación
