Explicación

Peça trapezoidal feta servir en la construcció d'arcs i voltes que, en ser més estreta d'un costat que de l'altre, fa funció de falca i distribueix les forces dels murs que hi ha a sobre dels arcs.

Pedra central que hi ha a l'àpex d'un arc. El joc de forces de tot l'arc, no funciona fins que no està col·locada aquesta peça.

Contraclau

Filera de mitjans damunt la qual s'aixeca un arc o una volta, generalment amb una mica de volada (sortint)

Defineix l'espai entre dos arcs o voltes (concretament entre els extradós dels dos arcs)

Massís d’obra construït al costat d’un arc o d’una volta perquè resisteixi els esforços laterals.

Ronyó

Elements verticals que hi ha a cada costat sobre els que descansa l’arc o la llinda.
