Explicación

Son las células especializadas del sistema nervioso encargadas de recibir, procesar y transmitir información mediante señales eléctricas y químicas. Son fundamentales para todas las funciones del cuerpo, desde el pensamiento y la emoción hasta los movimientos y funciones automáticas como la respiración.

Sensitivas (aferentes): Llevan información desde los receptores sensoriales al sistema nervioso central. Motoras (eferentes): Transmiten órdenes desde el sistema nervioso central hacia músculos y glándulas. Interneuronas: Conectan neuronas entre sí dentro del sistema nervioso central.

Recibir estímulos del medio interno o externo. Transmitir impulsos eléctricos a través de su axón. Procesar información en el sistema nervioso. Comunicar señales a otras neuronas, músculos o glándulas mediante sinapsis. Coordinar respuestas motoras, reflejas y cognitivas.

Soma o cuerpo celular: Contiene el núcleo y dirige las funciones de la neurona. Dendritas: Ramificaciones que reciben señales de otras células. Axón: Prolongación larga que transmite impulsos eléctricos. Vaina de mielina: Cubre el axón y acelera la transmisión del impulso. Botones sinápticos: Extremos del axón que liberan neurotransmisores para comunicarse con otras células.
