Contiene el material genético (ADN) y coordina las funciones vitales de la neurona, como la síntesis de proteínas necesarias para su funcionamiento

Su función principal es recibir estimulos o señales de otras neuronas y conducirlas hacía el cuerpo celular.

Su función es transmitir los impulsos nerviosos desde en cuerpo celular hacia otras neuronas, músculos o glándulas

Estás vainas envuelven el axón de forma continua, dejando entre ellas espacios llamados módulos de Ranvier.

Permite la transmisión de señales nerviosas mediante sustancias químicas llamadas neurotransmisores

Su función principal es recibir estimulos o señales de otras neuronas y conducirlas hacía el cuerpo celular.
