1 PR interval (PRI) 2 P wave 3 QT interval 4 QRS complex 5 ST segment 6 T wave

Explanation

The PR interval denotes the whole atrial cycle. Measurement is from the beginning of the P wave to the beginning of the QRS.

The P wave is the first positive deflection on the ECG and represents atrial depolarization.

The QT interval is measured from the start of the Q wave to the end of the T wave, representing both ventricular contraction and relaxation.

The QRS complex denotes ventricular contraction and is measured from the beginning of the Q wave to the end of the S wave.

The ST segment should always be a flat waveform. A flat or isoelectric waveform indicates that the heart is receiving enough oxygen through its own blood supply. When the heart is hypoxic, the wave will either become depressed or elevated.

The T wave denotes ventricular relaxation or repolarization.
