Explicación

Enfocó la filosofía en la ética y el conocimiento propio. Insistió en la idea de "conócete a ti mismo".

El alma es inmortal, preexistente y triple (racional, irritable y apetitiva). La mente o razón debe gobernar sobre las otras partes para lograr el equilibrio y la justicia interior.

Enfoque empírico y lógico, fundador de la lógica formal, teoría de la causalidad y ética basada en la virtud como hábito.

Fundador del racionalismo moderno, famoso por el "pienso, luego existo" (Cogito ergo sum).

Criticó las ideas innatas; el alma se entiende más como la conciencia o el pensamiento en la mente; se enfoca en la identidad personal basada en la continuidad de la conciencia.

No se basa en emociones o resultados, y que cada persona debe respetar la dignidad y la autonomía de los demás, tratándolos siempre como fines en sí mismos y nunca solo como medios para un fin.

Negó la existencia del "yo" como entidad fija o alma. La mente es una sucesión de percepciones sin una identidad permanente, no hay alma inmortal sino solo impresiones y ideas.
