Figure 6 (below). The left image reveals the interior of the Right Atrium. Allowing blood to flow in are the Superior Vena Cava (1), Inferior Vena Cava (arrow), and the opening of the Coronary Sinus (3). Also visible is the Fossa Ovalis (2), a depression on the Interatrial Septum. The middle photograph also shows the opening of the Coronary Sinus (4, with the handle of a Mall Probe inserted into it) and the Fossa Ovalis (5). The right image is a posterior view of the same heart, with the probe handle still threaded into the Coronary Sinus (6)
