Explicación

El 3 de Agosto de 1492, Colón zarpó del Puerto de Palos de la Frontera, España, con las carabelas, la Niña, la Pinta y la Santa María

Tras hacer una escala en las islas canarias para reparaciones, la expedición cruzó el océano Atlantico.

El 12 de Octubre de 1492, la tripulación avistó tierra y desembarcó en la Isla de Guanahaní (Bahamas), a la que Colón bautizó como San Salvador)

Continuo explorando las islas de Cuba y la Española (Actualmente Haití y República Dominicana), donde naufragó la Santa María y se constuyó el Fuerte Navidad)

Colón regresó a España en 1493, convencido de que había llegado a las Indias.
