Maya Great! I'll start with 'big'—bigger, biggest. Easy to spot the pattern? Alex Yes. For most one-syllable adjectives, add -er and -est: tall, taller, tallest. Maya And for short words ending with a consonant-vowel-consonant, double the final consonant: big, bigger, biggest. Alex What about 'good'? It’s an irregular: good, better, best. Maya Right! And for longer adjectives, use more and most: careful, more careful, most careful. Alex Can we mix adjectives? 'More interesting' is better than 'interestingest'—the latter isn’t a word.
