Explicación

Produce su propia materia orgánica y energía mediante la fotosíntesis, capturando la luz solar. Es la base de la cadena.

Se alimenta directamente de las plantas. Transfiere la energía almacenada en las plantas al nivel de los consumidores.

Carnívoro que se alimenta del ratón de campo (consumidor primario).

Carnívoro que se alimenta de la serpiente (y probablemente de los ratones también). Al ser el último eslabón, no suele tener depredadores naturales en este sistema.

Reciclan la materia muerta de todos los niveles, devolviendo nutrientes inorgánicos al suelo para que las plantas los utilicen.
