Explanation

Acts as the primary entry point for air. It filters dust and microbes using tiny hairs (cilia), warms the air through blood vessels, and moistens it with mucus to protect delicate lung tissues

The pharynx serves as a shared passageway for air and food. The larynx, or voice box, contains the epiglottis, which closes during swallowing to prevent food from entering the airway. It also houses the vocal cords.

Larynx is also called the voice box, it contains the vocal cords and the epiglottis, which prevents food from entering the airway during swallowing.

Trachea is a rigid tube lined with cartilage rings that keeps the airway open. It connects the throat to the lungs and is lined with cilia and mucus to trap and remove particles.

The bronchi are two main branches from the trachea, each leading to a lung. They further divide into bronchioles, which are smaller tubes that distribute air evenly throughout the lungs.

Diaphragm is the main muscle responsible for inhalation and exhalation. When you inhale, the diaphragm contracts and moves downward, increasing the space in the chest cavity. This creates a vacuum that pulls air into the lungs. When you exhale, the diaphragm relaxes and moves upward, reducing chest space and pushing air out of the lungs

Bronchioles are the tiny airways in the lungs that branch off from the bronchi. They carry air to the alveoli, where gas exchange happens. Unlike bronchi, bronchioles have no cartilage and are surrounded by smooth muscle, which helps control airflow.

Tiny balloon-like sacs at the end of bronchioles. They are surrounded by capillaries and are the site of gas exchange: oxygen diffuses into the blood, and carbon dioxide diffuses out to be exhaled. Their thin walls and large surface area make them highly efficient.
