Renewable energy, like wind, solar, or water power, is much safer for the environment. Presenter But installing solar panels can be very expensive, right? Professor Aidana Kasenova Yes, the initial cost is high, but you start paying less for electricity, so in the long term you actually save money. And if you can’t install solar panels, you can use wind or hydroelectric power. Presenter I think our town could build a wind farm. Although, wind turbines can spoil the landscape and may be dangerous for birds. Professor Aidana Kasenova That’s true. That’s why sometimes it’s better to build a dam. Hydroelectric power can produce a lot of electricity and even help control water levels. Presenter That sounds like a good idea. What about using biofuels in vehicles? Professor Aidana Kasenova Biofuels produce fewer harmful chemicals, but they still release carbon dioxide. However, they are considered carbon neutral because the plants used to make them absorb carbon dioxide as they grow.

I believe using renewable energy sources is much better. Fossil fuels release carbon dioxide and contribute to global warming. Renewable energy, like wind, solar, or water power, is much safer for the environment.
