Explicación

Se hicieron conocer también por sus grandes conocimientos en astronomía y matemáticas, y por tener escritura propia. No desaparecieron: hoy todavía existen pueblos mayas con sus tradiciones en centro américa.

Son conocidos por sus cabezas colosales de piedra y por ser considerados la cultura madre, ya que influyeron en civilizaciones posteriores como los mayas, especialmente en el arte, la religión y la organización social.

Su capital fue Tula y se destacaron por su arquitectura, especialmente las grandes esculturas llamadas atlantes, además de su influencia cultural y religiosa en pueblos posteriores como los aztecas.

Destacaron por su organización política, su arquitectura (como Monte Albán), su escritura y conocimientos en astronomía, y sus comunidades zapotecas siguen existiendo hasta hoy.

Se destacaron por su arquitectura, como la ciudad de El Tajín, por sus rituales religiosos y por la tradición de los voladores de Papantla, que aún se practica hoy.
