Canada is the largest country in North America. It is also a country with the longest shore line in the world. They speak both French and English. On the west area they speak English , on the Eastern part they speak French.
USA was built in July 4th, 1776, after declaring the colonies independence from Britain. There were 13 colonies in the beginning , and now it becomes a country with 50 states , with Delaware as the 1st state established , and Hawaii as the 50th or the last one. USA has 1 dependent territory in the Caribbean sea, that is Puerto Rico , with San Juan as the Capitol City.
Alaska is part of USA. It became the 49th state in 1959 , while it was bought from Russian Empire in 1867 for $ 7.2 M. The name Alaska came from the Aleut word "Alaxsxaq" which means "The mainland". Then the Russian adopted it to be "Alayska" which later on known as Alaska in English
Greenland is the biggest and the most north island in the world. It is a territory of Denmark, ever since Norway, Iceland , Faroe island and Denmark were on union under The Kingdom of Norway. It isn't considered as a new continent because unlike Australia that stands on its own tectonic plate, it resides on the American Continent tectonic plate. They gained their autonomous right after 1953.The indigenous people are the Kalaallit, the broader part of Innuit people or Eskimo people.
The name Mexico derived from the Aztecs who called themselves Mexica (Me-shee-ka), meaning people of the center of the moon, because they believed Mexico was the literal center of the world. Mexico City , the capitol city , was used to be called Tenochtitlan in that era. The biggest city in the world at that time , with over 200.000 to 300.000 people with sophistications more than the European cities. Hernan Cortez, Spanish Explorer was amazed by the civilization when he came in 1519.
The Name Cuba is believed from the word "Cubao" or "Cibao" which means where the fertile land is abundant. Their number one export is not about goods or any products, but doctors and nurses. they are sent to South America like Brazil and Venezuela and also to Africa. The Capitol City is Havana or La Habana. The people is called a Habanero (male) and Habanera (female). This is where Habanero pepper comes from.
The name "Haiti (Ayiti)" means the land of Mountains . This is the country in the Caribbean sea with the most mountains.
The name comes from Saint Dominic (Santo Domingo), the founder of the Dominican Order of monks. The capitol city was named Santo Domingo, and the people eventually called themselves Dominicanos. When they became independent from Haiti in 1844, they named the country the "Dominican Republic." This is where the merengue music's birthplace .
Jamaica is the name. this where Ska is the big brother of reggae .The Capitol City is Kingston. They gained their independence from Britain in 1962. It is the country which dares to defy the impossible. Usain Bolt , Bob Marley are from this country
Bahamas is an archipelago. it is known for its 700 islands and around 2000 cays ( small islands). Famous pirates like Blackbeard, Calico Jack , Anne Bonny used the Bahamas as a base because the shallow waters made it easy for their small ships to hide from heavy British warships, and also to hide their treasures.
