Explanation

When: 6–15 April 1915 Where: Near Celaya, Guanajuato (Bajío region) Who: Constitutionalists (Álvaro Obregón) vs. Conventionists (Pancho Villa) Significance: Decisive Constitutionalist victory that broke Villa’s military power in central Mexico.

When: 21 March – 31 May 1915 Where: El Ébano, San Luis Potosí Who: Constitutionalists vs. Conventionists Significance: One of the longest fights of the Revolution; control of the oil-rich region and communications was at stake.

When: 3 June 1915 Where: León, Guanajuato Who: Constitutionalists (Obregón) vs. Conventionists (Villa) Significance: After Celaya, Villa attempted to regroup and attack León; fighting was heavy and Obregón was wounded (lost his arm)

When: 1 November 1915 Where: Agua Prieta, Sonora Who: Constitutionalists (Plutarco Elías Calles/Carranza supporters) vs. Conventionists Significance: Constitutionalists repelled Villa’s attack on this border town, further weakening the Conventionist forces late in the year.

When: 26 November 1915 Where: Nogales, Sonora (both sides of the US–Mexico border) Who: Constitutionalists vs. Conventionists Significance: Border clash reflecting the declining Conventionist control in northern Mexico.
