1 The women helped with hunting, governing, and gathering food. They would prepare meals and were responsible for the travel of tepees. They would weave baskets and blankets, as well as take care of their children. Women had much more jobs and responsibilities compared to the men. Not only did women do all the maintenance, but they also worked on the fields to hoe, harvest, and store food. 2 Men hunted animals and protected their family. They were responsible for religious operations, production of weapons, and helping the woman on the fields. 3 A woman´s social status was determined by their ability in crafts. 4 Native Americans used sign language to communicate. 5 Buffalo was their main source of diet, also made into jerky. 6 Buffalo was their main source of diet, also made into jerky.
