Explicación

Tras años de disputa y un arbitraje argentino fallido, se firmó el Tratado de Polo-Bustamante en 1909, donde Bolivia cedió a Peru cerca de 250.00 km2.

Antes de la guerra del Acre, el presidente Mariano Melgarejo cedió aproximadamente 100.00 km2 en la zona del Mato Grosso mediante el Tratado de Amistad de 1867.

Mediante tratados de 1889 y 1925, Bolivia cedió unos 170.000 km2, para consolidar sus límites del sur, y a cambio del reconocimiento de Tarija como territorio boliviano.

Bolivia perdió su Litoral (acceso al Océano Pacífico) entre 1879 y 1884 frente a Chile, aproximadamente 120.000 km2 ricos en guano, salitre y cobre.

Enfrentamiento con Brasil desde 1899 hasta 1903, donde Bolivia perdió 191.000 km2 mediante el Tratado de Petrópolis.

Entre 1932 hasta 1935, Bolivia entro en guerra con Paraguay por el control del Chaco Boreal, motivado en parte por la creencia de grandes reservas de petróleo. Tras la derrota, Bolivia cedió 234.000 km2 en el Tratado de Paz de 1938.
