Explicación

El estrecho de Gibraltar es el lugar por donde se produce la unión natural de dos masas de agua: el mar Mediterráneo y el océano Atlántico y la separación entre dos continentes: Europa y África.

El canal de la Mancha es el brazo de mar del océano Atlántico que lo comunica con el mar del Norte, al oeste de Europa, y separa el noroeste de Francia de la isla de Gran Bretaña.

El Canal de Suez permitió disminuir la distancia entre Europa y el sur de Asia.

El estrecho de Ormuz es un estrecho angosto entre el golfo de Omán, localizado al sudeste, y el golfo Pérsico, al sudoeste.

El estrecho de Malaca es un largo estrecho de mar del sudeste de Asia localizado entre la costa occidental de la península malaya y la isla indonesa de Sumatra.

El canal de Panamá​ es un canal de navegación ubicado entre el mar Caribe y el océano Pacífico. Atraviesa el punto más estrecho del istmo de Panamá.
