Explanation

The Ganga River originates from the Himalayas and flows about 2,525 km eastward and finally drains its water into the Bay of Bengal.

The Brahmaputra river is 2,900 Kms long which covers Arunachal Pradesh and Assam in India. The river originates in Chemayungdung Glacier in Kailash range in Himalayas and drains into the Bay of Bengal.

Originating from the Maikala range near Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh, the Narmada basin spans across the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh.

The Kaveri River also known as the ‘Dakshin Bharat ki Ganga’ or ‘the Ganga of the South’. The Kaveri river originates at Talakaveri on the Brahmagiri range near to Kodagu (Coorg) district of Karnataka. It flows in a south-easterly direction through the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and descends to the Eastern Ghats with a series of great falls. Before flowing into the Bay of Bengal, the river divides into numerous distributaries, creating an extensive delta known as the Garden of Southern India.

The Indus River originates from a glacier near Bokhar Chu in the Tibetan region in the Kailash Mountain range near the Mansarovar Lake. The river flows northwest and enters the Ladakh region of India at a place called Demchok. Once in India, the Indus River flows between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges.
