85g ready OVEN CUTTER FLOUR 3 BUTTER SUGAR BUTTER 40

To make Scottish Shortbread , first read the ingredients , then fill in the gaps .

Ingredients :
85g icing sugar ( confectioner's sugar )
85g castor sugar ( superfine sugar )
280g butter
450g plain flour ( all purpose flour )

Method :
Set oven to 280F - 140C ( Gas Mark 2 )
Cream the 280g of , the of icing sugar and 85g of castor together using a wooden spoon .
Sift the 2 or times , then gradually mix into the creamed and sugar using your hands , until a firm dough is formed .  
On a lightly floured surface roll or press dough until about 1 / 2 inch thick and use a cookie to make shapes , or slice into 3 " x 1 " bars and prick the top with a fork .
Bake in pre - heated for for approx 30 to mins , shortbread will be a light golden color when it's .
