Explicación

Located in Dolores Hidalgo, this parish is where Miguel Hidalgo gave the famous “Grito de Dolores” in 1810, marking the start of Mexico’s independence movement. Its baroque façade and historical importance make it a central attraction.

Originally a grain storage building, it became a fortress during the independence war. It is remembered for El Pípila’s heroic act of burning the door to allow insurgents entry.

A vibrant market built in 1910, offering local crafts, food, and souvenirs. Its iron structure was originally intended as a train station.

Guanajuato’s mines, especially La Valenciana, were once among the richest silver mines in the world. They fueled the city’s prosperity during colonial times.

Recognizable by its monumental staircase, this university is one of Mexico’s oldest and most prestigious institutions, contributing greatly to the city’s intellectual life.

The old prison in Dolores Hidalgo where Miguel Hidalgo freed inmates before launching the independence movement. It is now a historical site.

The central square of Guanajuato, surrounded by colonial buildings and the Basílica. It is a lively meeting point and a symbol of civic life.
