Explicación

Al estar exactamente en el centro de la Tierra, las zonas cercanas presentan temperaturas cálidas (tropicales) y homogéneas a lo largo del año, el día y la noche tienen prácticamente la misma duración (12 horas cada uno) durante todo el año.

Esta línea imaginaria atraviesa ocho países entre los que se encuentran: Noruega, Suecia, Finlandia,Canadá, entre otros.

Casi la totalidad del continente antártico se encuentra al sur del círculo polar antártico.
