Explanation

Always use the patient's left and right. The left lung has two lobes, due to the heart being in it's space

The trachea is a part of the lower airway. It has semi-rigid "C" shaped rings to prevent collapse with the negative pressure required for inhalation

The divide between the upper and lower airway. Epiglottis is the leaf like flap that slams shut when we swallow to prevent aspiration.

Warms, humidifies, and filters incoming air

The intercostal muscles are the muscle between the ribs. They help contract to pull the ribs up and out, to increase the size of the thoracic cavity - therefore increasing the negative pressure for inhalation.

Contracts down to increase the size of the thoracic cavity, increasing negative pressure for inhalation. Divides the thorax from the abdominal cavity.
