Katya
Vika, have you ever thought about what you would like to do after school?
Vika
Yes, I have. I’m quite ambitious, so I’d like to go to university and do a degree in something I really enjoy.
Katya
That sounds great! What subject would you choose?
Vika
I’m not completely sure yet. Maybe I’ll do a course in tourism because I’d like to train as a tour guide. What about you?
Katya
I think I’d like to study for a degree in languages. I’ve always enjoyed learning foreign languages.
Vika
That suits you! You’re very organised and confident, so I think you’d be a great teacher.
Katya
Thank you! But I used to be quite shy when I was younger. If I hadn’t practised speaking English, I wouldn’t be as confident as I am now.
Vika
That’s interesting. I think being reliable is also important at work. If you work for a company, people have to know that they can depend on you.
Katya
Absolutely. And if I had my own company one day, I would want to work with caring and reliable people.
Vika
Would you rather work full-time or work part-time?
Katya
At first, I’d probably work part-time because I’d like to have more free time. Later, I might work full-time or even run my own company.
Vika
I’d love to work for myself one day. If I had my own company, I would make sure that everyone was treated fairly.
Katya
That’s a very good idea. What kind of company would you have?
Vika
Maybe a travel company. I could work as a tour guide and organise interesting trips.
Katya
That sounds exciting! But you would need to be very organised.
Vika
I know! Luckily, I’m quite organised. I’m also sensitive, so I think I would understand my customers’ feelings.
Katya
Definitely. By the way, have you ever taken an exam that was really difficult?
Vika
Yes! Last year I took an exam and I was really nervous. But I passed the exam, so I was very happy.
Katya
Well done! I remember how nervous I was before my exams. If I hadn’t prepared properly, I probably wouldn’t have passed.
Vika
Preparation is really important. Before an exam, I usually make a plan and study a little every day.
Katya
That’s a very organised approach. And in the future, if you get a degree in tourism, you might be able to work for a big travel company.
Vika
I hope so! And if I become successful, I’ll probably have my own company one day.
Katya
I can imagine that! You’re ambitious, reliable and caring, so I think you’ll be a great boss.
Vika
Thanks! And what about you? If you get a degree in languages, what will you do?
Katya
I’ll probably work in education. I’d like to have a job where languages are used every day.
Vika
That sounds perfect for you. And remember: if you keep working hard, your dreams will be achieved!
Katya
Exactly! And one day we’ll look back and say, “We actually did it!”
