They are the people to go to when you're not happy with your courses. When you see something on campus that makes you uneasy, you call these guys. They also walk you to your car, bike, or the bus stop if you feel unsafe to do so on your own. Stellar service! Flu shots, counselling, seeing a nurse or a doctor. This service in the heart of Ilam Campus is essential! You get the measles and miss two weeks of uni. These guys can provide you with lecture notes so you don't fall behind! Here, you can pay your fees, get assistance with student insurance, and go for name or citizenship changes. This service supports transition into studies at UC for Māori students while also providing opportunities to engage in leadership, tutoring, and mentoring programmes. They help you find resources for assignments, put on workshops on how to find relevant resources, and how to avoid accidental plagiarism. Help with your student email, software installation, logging onto WiFi, and your IT account. If you are unsure how to handle a situation with a students, feel you need support yourself, or have a great idea for the first year programmes, see these people! They exist to nurture the spirituality, offer pastoral care and facilitate dialogue amongst the students and staff at Canterbury. They offer heaps of services around student wellbeing, including a dental service, hardship support, clubs, events, and a drop-in help service. Things aren't great but you can't figure out why and how to get into a better head space again. These people sit down with you and talk through the situation to help you make a plan to tackle it. Mens sana in corpore sano. A healthy mind lives in a healthy body! This service is free to all students and a great way to establish and maintain a good balance during busy study periods. They run the CCR programme, put on careers fairs, and workshops on how to pimp your CV and write a top notch cover letter. They offfer academic writing and exam preparation courses, help you structure your assignments well, and support you in acquiring good study strategies.
