Matching Pairs The Scientific MethodOnline version Match the stage of the scientific method with a real life example. by Matthew Sims 1 2 3 4 5 6 Does types of soil affect the growth of a plant? Every day I will note the growth of each plant in a table so I can compare the growth with all types of soil. If I want to set up an experiment I could set up three types of soil. I would use the same type of seed, the same pot, the same lighting conditions, and amount of water. The only condition that would be different would be the type of soil. Finally we would see how well each seed grew. After analyzing my data I can see the plant in potting soil grew the highest and the plant in sand grew the least. I conclude that type of soil does in fact affect plant growth. I will set up my plants in the same conditions and make daily observations for 2 weeks. The only condition that is different is the type of soil. I believe that a plant will grow much better with potting soil than say sand. Common plants will have a hard time growing in sand.
