This begins with "We the People". This part of the Preamble indicates that one of the jobs of government is to help ensure people's homes, communities, and country are peaceful. The document that stated that the United States was now separate from Great Britain, and a free and independent country. The Declaration of Independence says that the job of government is to protect life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This part of the Preamble says it is the government's job to set up an army and navy. Freedom of expression, freedom of belief, right to equal opportunity, and the right to ask the government to make things better. This is another word for fairness. The government is responsible for doing things that are good for everyone in the country. Obey the law, respect the rights of others, live together peacefully.
