? Une entre les deux blocs à partir d ? intérêts communs pour éviter les tensions , assurer la avec la doctrine de la pacifique en 1953 : gestion de crise ( Cuba 1962 ) , un partage de sphère d ? influence et des plans de désarmement ( " le téléphone rouge " )

Une compétition entre les 2 blocs là où les impératifs de sécurité internationale n ? étaient pas menacés , guerres considérées comme secondaires pour étendre la sphère d ? influence des blocs : Les conflits , les deux pays ne s'affrontent pas directement ( = « guerre proxy » ) : guerre du Viêt Nam ( - ) , guerre ? Afghanistan ( 1979 - 1988 ) .

? Un affrontement sur les droits de l ? homme , on reprochait les soviétiques de ne pas respecter les droits de l'homme , c'est un instrument de pression contre l ? URSS

? Une compétition et ( Spoutnik en 1957 par les URSS , conquête de la Lune en 1969 par les USA )
