La consumación de la independencia puso fin al periodo de dominio . Pero para que el nuevo país pudiera salir adelante debía hacer frente a varios problemas , como el atraso , pues once años de guerra habían dejado arruinados a los sectores productivos .
Además , se pensaba en establecer un gobierno , pero los deseaban fortalecer el poder del presidente , mientras que los buscaban el equilibrio de poderes y fortalecer los estados .
Al termino de la guerra de Independencia varios países estaban interesados en establecer relaciones con nuestro país , pues querían adquirir productos mexicanos .
Sin embargo hubo conflictos con algunos de ellos , tal fue el caso de en 1838 y con entre 1846 y 1848 . La guerra contra este ultimo país culmino con la perdida de los territorios de y , lo cual representó un duro golpe para México , ya que había perdido Texas .
