Es troba al nord-est i segueix una direcció paral·lela a la costa.

Es troba entre sierra Morena i el sistema Bètic. Té una altitud mitjana de 100-200 m.

Està situada en territori portuguès.

Estan situades al nord i es componen de serralades de poca altitud i formes arrodonides.

Esta situadfa entre la serralada Ibèrica i els Pirineus. Té una altitud mitjana de 300-400 m.

Es troba al sud i es compon de la serralada Subbètica, amb les serres de Cazorla i Segura, i la serralada Penibètica, amb sierra nevada on hi ha el cim més alt de la Península.
