Class: Cardiac glycoside Use: HF by increasing Ca in the heart muscle Nrsg Considerations: Can reach toxic levels easily, Halo, Blurred Vision, Confusion, & Bradycardia= Adverse Effects with toxicity. Apical pulse for 1 min.

Class: Loop diuretic Use: HF, HTN, Causes fluid loss, First drug used to tx High BP Nrsg Considerations: Decrease K+ can cause cardiac dysrhythmias, Orthostatic Hypotension, Monitor I & O's, & BP

Class: Antiparasympathetic Anticholinergic Use: Given to increase HR with Bradycardia, Given in surgery to dry secretions Nrsg Considerations: DO NOT give to pt with glaucoma or asthma, For Bradycardia: give 0.5mg q3-5 mins up to 3mg
