t was a day that started with promise but quickly turned into a series of unfortunate events for Tom . It began with him waking up late due to a power overnight , causing his alarm clock to reset and run . Rushing to get ready , he in the dark and twisted his . " Ouch ! " he exclaimed , bumping his against the door frame as he hobbled into the bathroom .

To make matters worse , the bathroom was because of a leaking pipe that burst overnight . " Great , just great , " he muttered , trying to avoid stepping into the puddle . Feeling frustrated , he hurried to the kitchen to make coffee , only to find that the sink was and wouldn't drain properly .

Ignoring the kitchen disaster for now , Tom dashed out to his car , only to discover that someone had one of the windows during the night . " What else could go wrong ? " he wondered aloud , noticing a on the side of his car . He sighed heavily and tried to start the engine , but the car wouldn't - it had run of petrol .

Frustrated and running late , Tom decided to walk to work . As he was crossing the street , he over a loose paving stone and fell , his coffee all over his favorite T - shirt . " Seriously ? " he groaned , now sporting a coffee on top of everything else .

Finally arriving at work , he realized he had left his keys at home and had himself out of both his apartment and his car . " Today is just not my day , " he muttered to himself , nursing a eye from the fall . To top it all off , his computer at work kept , making it nearly impossible to get anything done .

By the end of the day , Tom was utterly exhausted and bruised , but he managed to laugh it off with his colleagues over a drink , reflecting on the absurdity of his day . " Tomorrow can only be better , " he said optimistically , hoping for a smoother day ahead .
