Al pulsar el interruptor de este artefacto, una corriente eléctrica circula por un electroimán creado por un campo magnético que atrae a un pequeño martillo golpea una campanilla interrumpiendo el circuito, lo que hace que el campo magnético desaparezca y la barra vuelva a su posición.
