Le corps humain ne peut pas utiliser directement les aliments ingérés . Pendant la , ils se transforment en éléments assimilables par le sang : les . La première étape de la digestion se passe dans la bouche où les aliments sont coupés et broyés par les . Ils sont imprégnés de contenant des substances permettant une première transformation en nutriments . Cette bouillie , appelée alimentaire , passe ensuite dans l'estomac qui continue le broyage et la transformation en nutriments grâce , notamment , au gastrique . Le bol alimentaire , encore plus liquide , reçoit en sortant de l'estomac , d'autres sucs digestifs du et de la vésicule biliaire .
Le bol alimentaire passe alors dans grêle . Les nutriments franchissent sa paroi et passent dans le : c'est intestinale . Ce qui n'est pas absorbé subit une fermentation dans le gros intestin , puis est rejeté à l'extérieur par l'anus .
