Donde hay un nodo raíz y otros nodos que se conectan a él en forma jerárquica. Es una combinación de la topología en estrella y en bus, permitiendo que varios dispositivos se conecten a un nodo central.

En esta topología, cada dispositivo está conectado a dos otros, formando un anillo. Los datos viajan en una dirección (o en ambas direcciones), y cada dispositivo actúa como un repetidor para transmitir datos.

Todos los dispositivos están conectados a un único cable o medio de comunicación. Los datos enviados por un dispositivo viajan a lo largo y son recibidos por todos los demás dispositivos, pero solo el dispositivo destinatario acepta la información.

En esta configuración, todos los dispositivos están conectados a un nodo central (como un switch o hub). Si uno de los dispositivos falla, no afecta al resto de la red, lo que la hace más robusta y fácil de manejar.
