Un bioma es una zona de la Tierra donde predominan un tipo de clima y una vegetación que favorecen el desarrollo de determinados seres vivos.

La taiga es un bioma.

Los bosques tropicales son un bioma.

Las selvas tropicales se localizan, principalmente, en la franja comprendida entre los 15° de latitud.

Las sabanas se localizan en los territorios comprendidos entre las selvas tropicales y los desiertos cálidos.

En los desiertos cálidos el clima es muy seco y se caracteriza por las temperaturas altas semanales que oscilan entre los 20 °C y los 30 °C.
